About Us

The historic Rose Ranch was purchased by Larry Miller, owner of the Utah Jazz basketball team, in May 2002. The ranch, which is located approximately four miles west of Snowville, Utah on the Utah/Idaho border is comprised of nearly 25,000 acres of deeded ground of which about 6,400 acres are under irrigation, mainly from 15 deep wells. The ranch also has a reservoir, which is fed from Deep Creek that is used for irrigation. Water rights are proved up (one application is awaiting final State approval) and water on the ranch has been plentiful, even during recent drought years. Irrigation is primarily through 54 center pivot systems. The ranch produces from 25,000 to 30,000 tons of quality alfalfa and grain hay each year, selling about 75% of the crop through area hay brokers.

In addition to a cow/calf operation with over 2,000 commercial cows, the ranch runs a herd of about 400 registered Red Angus cows. The ranch produces its own Red Angus bulls, retaining over 100 for its own use, and conducts a bull sale each spring. The registered herd is bred by artificial insemination primarily from Major League, a record setting bull partly owned by the ranch. The ranch has several grazing permits on about 80,000 acres of BLM and Forest Service ground for about 6,500 AUM's. Calves are typically sold through Superior Livestock nationwide video auction or by private treaty sale. The ranch has a large feedlot, and will begin feedlot operations in 2005 for our own cattle.

In 2004, the ranch began operations in producing performance and ranch horses. We have three studs, 60 mares, 5 Stallions and will be expanding in the years to come. An annual auction will be held in June or July of each year with weanlings and some started horses.

Miller's Rose Ranch is committed to becoming the premier producer of hay, cattle and horses in the intermountain area. We have outstanding employees, strong financial backing, and are committed to the relentless pursuit of excellence in all we do. We hope be able to assist you with your hay, cattle or horse needs!
